Bookish Weekend Ramblings

Hello my dear fellow bookworms,

We have been hit with an unexpected Winter storm in April! Hopefully it melts quickly and is the last one of the season. I have stayed home because the roads are icy and I’d rather be inside where it’s warm.

Since I’m stuck inside, has been the perfect excuse to do lots of reading and take bookish photos. Not that I need much inspiration for either because I enjoy them both.

I devoured a 300+ book in less than 24 hours for my Library Book Group pick which is called The Forgetting Time by Sharon Guskin. I already owned a copy so it made sense to just read my own. This book was so good and had me on the edge of my seat. It was also so heartbreaking and and a bit of wonder. I don’t want to spoil anything though stayed tuned for a review soon.

Now I am ready  to get back into the world of Strange the Dreamer which I started yesterday. I’m reading it for my Runes O.W.L.s which is part of a Magical Readathon being hosted by Book Roast  I’ve read four out of thettwelve so far! If you couldn’t tell by the dreamy look on my face, I’m loving Ancient Runes!

Also I am just loving Lazlo’s world that he dreams of and the book itself has that new paper smell! My boyfriend looked at me like I was crazy when I said that outloud but didn’t comment because he knows I’m just quirky like that.

In other bookish news, I recently received an ARC of My Ex-Life by Stephen McCauley from #flatiron_books

Furyborn by Claire Legrand from #sourcebooksfire

I can’t wait to dive into the bookish worlds I am surrounded by and see what new books I can to my favorites!

Well I am off to read and I hope you’ve had a great bookish weekend so far!

Happy Reading!

Together Forever Review

Good evening,

I know it has been a while since I have shared anything bookish here and for that I apologize. I have fallen off the wagon so to speak (or is it I got back on? I can never remember) due to life getting very busy so it has been a crazy few weeks to say the least. I haven’t posted recently but I have been reading when I can and according to Goodreads I am ahead of my reading schedule! I am here now to post and ready to gush about books because I’m a bookworm and I am shameless when it comes to getting excited about reading.

I was recently sent a digital ARC through Netgalley and all opinions are my own. The book that I finished very recently is called Together Forever by Sian O’Gorman and it was such a sweet story! Reading this book was similar to having a hot cup of tea after a long chilly day which is to say it was relaxing and heartwarming!

This was such a lovely story about an Irish woman named Tabitha who lives in Dublin who is a Mom, Politician’s wife, daughter and Principal of an all girl’s school. She loves her daughter, being a principal and spending time with her best friend Clodagh. Her husband may be more absent than present as he’s usually off traveling for work, they are more room mates than a married couple and her mother in law is not an easy person to get along with but all things considered, Tabitha thinks she has a pretty good life and she’s okay with how things are.

Then an old flame shows up back in town, throws a monkey wrench into the works and Tabitha realizes that maybe she isn’t quite so content with a lackluster marriage, that she’s not ready to throw in the towel on having excitement in life and that sometimes life has a way of surprising you.

I really enjoyed this book especially since it was set in Ireland which I am always up for reading about. This book was equal parts exciting, mysterious, funny and soothing which all adds up to a wonderful book that reminded me why these kinds of books always pull me in. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and hopefully more about Ireland!

Sian is actually publishing another book based in Ireland called Always and Forever that is due out May 1st which is less than a month away! It sounds like it may be more somber than Together Forever but I don’t mind and have added it to my to be read list pile. I swear every month my to be read list keeps being added to by leaps and bounds!

Well that concludes my bookish ramblings for the time being. I hope to be back soon with more bookish ramblings whether that be a blog about a book I’ve read or my random bookish thoughts. Either way, you can be certain I will be gushing about books in some form or another. So until then:

Happy Reading!
