The Highland Rogue Review

Good morning,

I hope your week is going good, that being inside is not stressful for you and that you are all well. I am normally someone who can spend hours indoors though as the weather slowly starts to turn, soon there will be inspiration to get outside for some fresh air.

Speaking of inspiration, I was able to get a bit ahead of reading a book that I received as a review copy and am so glad that I didn’t put off closer to the release date because resisting reading books by a certain author are very hard for me to resist.

You are probably wondering what the name of this book is and who the author is. Well I won’t keep you in suspense any more though I would like to mention that I received a digital ARC of a book via Netgalley from the publisher though all thoughts are my own. So now on to the really good stuff and the book was just released today!

My Thoughts:

Everytime Amy has another book in her Highlander series, all of which can be read as standalones, I get excited because I know it will be another grand adventure of a book and I do have a soft spot for Highlander romance!

This is the story of Divana and Kennan who come from completely different parts of society and yet are really a wonderful match.

Kennan is the heir to Clan Cameron of Lochiel and is more comfortable sailing the seas, looking for treasure than spending much time on Land though he knows eventually he’ll need to settle down, marry and take over being Laird once his Father steps down or dies.

Divana comes from a very poor family of the Campbells whose clan exiled her and her small family to a small remote island in the Hebrides when an illness broke out. Alas everyone but her died from the sickness and she’s spent the last two years surviving without seeing another person.

When Kennan washes ashore near her island, she has no idea just how much her world is about the change and that life is about to get a lot more interesting.

Full of high seas adventure, sexy Highlanders in kilts, humor, several steamy scenes, the power of love, friendship, a dash of pirates and surprises, it was such a wonderful read and I can’t wait to see which Highlander is next to find his happily ever after

I also recommend this book because it’s a great way to get your mind off of current events plus who doesn’t like reading about Scotsmen who are proud to wear kilts and speak about their homeland?!

Well that wraps up my bookish ramblings for the time being. May you get in lots of reading if you so choose and may it bring you comfort during such a difficult time. I will be back soon with more bookish content and I see lots more bookish adventures in store for me!

Happy Reading!
