Top Ten Tuesday: October Haul

Happy Tuesday,

Hard to believe that it’s almost the end of October! This month has flown by between work, a week’s vacation, book hunting, reading and generally trying to enjoy as much of Autumn as possible before Winter decides to rear its ugly head.

It’s been some time since I have posted a haul so I thought today would be a great time to mention some of the books I hauled. At last count, I have twenty four physical and close to that amount in digital form which means I could be here for quite some time. Thoughg granted, sixteen of the physical were from my local Library Book Sale. At this rate, I won’t be without books to read for a long time though resisting buying books for a while isn’t something that I stick to for long.

Instead of going into a full list of what I’ve hauled, I’ve narrowed it down to the top ten physical books that I’m excited to have in my possession. Some of them I’ve waited months to have in my hands, one I waited for two years and others were a surprise that I happened upon or were given to me.

So enough rambling, time to get to the really interesting parts! I don’t have them arranged in any particular order because it would probably take me too long to attempt to make up my mind.

Home: A Memoir of My Early Years by Julie Andrews Edwards

As you can see, I have quite the eclectic haul this month which is a very good thing as I tend to enjoy having a variety of different genres to choose from and several nonfiction though I only mentioned that one in this particular post.

Well that concludes my bookish ramblings for the time being. I’m excited to dive into the worlds of the many books I’ve recently hauled and maybe revisit some old favorites. I’m also really looking forward to Nonfiction November and have a good stack of books that I can choose from for starters. Hope you’re having a wonderful October and getting in as much reading as you’d like.

Happy Reading!

Top 10 Tuesday: July Wrap Up

Good morning,

July seems to have flown by and here it is, the last Tuesday of the month! I read a lot of books this month, mostly because I was attempting to participate in three readathons which made for quite the interesting choices of books to read.

For this last Tuesday, I decided to mention the books that stood out the most for me this month. If you’re curious about all that I’ve read, I have a link at the bottom to my Goodreads account.

So, let’s get to the really good stuff which is of course the books which have been organized according the order I read them in because they were all wonderful! Artificial Condition was a reread and looking forward to a reread of the rest of the books in the series.

So that concludes my bookish ramblings for the time being. I still have a couple of books to finish before the end of tomorrow which I’m sure I’ll be able to. I may not have been very successful with a couple of the readathons I took part in but I participated and pushed myself to read more which was a win in my book! I hope your reading was enjoyable this month and here’s to a hopefully successful month of reading in August!

Happy Reading!

Top 10 Tuesday: Fantasy and Sci-Fi

Good morning,

I have been really busy attempting to keep up with the various readathons I decided to join and now realizing it would have been a good idea to overlap some of the books for multiple readathons. Ah well, it’s inspiring me to get creative with what I read in a short amount of time!

Speaking of reading, I’ve been very much on a Fantasy and Sci-Fi kick which isn’t unusual but certainly isn’t helping my growing pile of to be read books. There’s been several that I’ve had my eye on though keep getting distracted by other books. Some have been on my list for a while and others have recently come across my radar. I thought it would be fun to split my list into five each of Fantasy and Sci-Fi which I hope you’ll enjoy!

Fantasy

The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson

13453104

Phoenix and Ashes (Elemental Masters #3) by Mercedes Lackey

Spin the Dawn (The Blood of Stars #1) by Elizabeth Lim

Sci-Fi

41085049._SY475_

Of Wars, and Memories, and Starlight by Aliette de Bodard

45429770._SY475_

So that concludes my bookish ramblings for now. I have several books to read before the end of the month and hoping I’ll finish at least two readathons before then! I can’t wait to see what new bookish adventures I will go on next! I will return soon with more bookish ramblings.

Happy Reading!

Top 10 Tuesday: Bookstacks on Desk Edition

Good afternoon,

I’ve been adding a lot to my TBR pile lately between book sales, library holds and some back lists that I’m trying to make as a priority. The easiest way for me to notice them is to place on my desk which has become a rather interesting way of organizing. So I’ve decided that the best way to tackle my precarious piles is to make a list and hope it will slowly but surely dwindle.

I have many more books than ten but it seems like a good number to start with and a number that isn’t too overwhelming. Oh the trials and tribulations of a bookworm! Without further ado, I present to you my rather eclectic list.

Save the Date by Morgan Matson

So that wraps up my bookish ramblings for the time being. There’s so many books I want to read and yet so little time. Though I’ve read a lot of books so far this year, it feels as though I’ve fallen very much behind but I’m determined to tackle some of my books that are on my various lists of books that have caught my notice. Speaking of books, I am off to the Library to pick up my holds and hopefully get in some reading. Wish me luck!

Happy Reading!

Top 10 Tuesday: Read June Books Edition

Good morning,

It’s a little hard to believe that it’s already the beginning of July and soon it will be Fall. I read quite a few books in June, some of which I’ve been meaning to for a while and others that I finished which had been on my currently reading list for way too long. I’ve managed to narrow down my top ten favorites, some of which I’m surprised I waited so long on.

So without further ado, let’s get to the books! Please note that I didn’t put them in any particular order of favorites because it’s always hard for me to number them!

My Blog Post

Well that wraps up my bookish ramblings for now. I was not very successful with attempting to participate in most of the readathons I was interested for June but still did very well for the amount that I read. It would seem I don’t do so well with most readathons if they are a week particularly when several overlap each other. Hopefully the month of July will be much better in that aspect. If not well, trying is half the battle and so long as I’m reading, that’s winning in my book!

Happy Reading!

Top 10 Tuesday: Kindle Edition

Good morning,

I hope you’re having a wonderful Tuesday and beginning of your week in general. Mine is going well so far, mostly because I have the day off. There are some errands I need to run and plan on getting together for a weekly dinner with a family member and hopefully get in some more reading time.

Speaking of reading time, I’ve been kind of neglecting my Kindle lately. I have a three year old Kindle Fire that probably has more books on in than I physically own. It’s really easy for me to download an e-book with the click of a button especially when I come across some really good deals. I’ve managed to put together a list of ten books which have been ordered by newest to oldest that I hope to read soon on my Kindle and then hopefully get to others!

Well that wraps up my bookish ramblings for the time being. I’m equally excited and overwhelmed at the amount of reading material I have available to me between my Kindle, paper books and Library loans. Running out of what to read next will not be a problem for quite some time and I know that the list will only grow because it’s just how my bookworm brain chooses to operate. May you have a wonderfully bookish week!

Happy Reading!

Top Ten Tuesday: May Reads

Good afternoon,

Hard to believe that it’s already the end of May. It seems to have flown by though the weather can’t seem to make up its mind whether to be pleasant or chilly. Good thing I’ve had plenty of books to keep me occupied and from climbing the walls. Also I’m very grateful we are past the threat of snow!

Speaking of books, I have a list of ten that really stuck out this month. I still have a few days left to read more books so I may do a wrap up of all the books read then or this just may be my version of a wrap up. I very much enjoyed all of these books and I’ve arranged them in the order that they were read though I seem to have slowed down quite a bit on the rate that I’m reading books this month. Hopefully I’m not on the verge of a reading slump! Hope you’ve had a wonderful May, a successful reading month and aren’t feeling on the verge of a reading slump either!

Looking forward to what kinds of books I’ll read in June and the many worlds I may visit from the comfort of my chair! I will be back soon with more bookish thoughts so please feel free to drop in again!

Happy Reading!
